WE ARE....

PENN STATE!!!As you might know, I am a Penn State Alumni and huge PSU fan. I am not trying to brag or boast but another one of those Princeton Review surveys came out. It lists Penn State as the #1 party school in the nation. It's the first time Penn State has finished first in the dubious category. The school has been on the list the last seven years and ranked third in 2008. The rankings were part of the Princeton Review's "The Best 371 Colleges" annual guide. Penn State also finished first in the categories "lots of beer" and students who pack the stadium. Considering we have never been #1 before gives us more to brag about. Now you can hate all you want, but just be glad you are not a student at Brigham Young University. They topped the list of the "Stone-Cold Sober Schools" for the 12th straight year. Now that is something to be proud of!

until next time...(keep partying)

SHAI HULUD-A SUCCESS!

A follow-up to yesterday's blog post:

My girlfriend and I attended the Shai Hulud show last night at Croc Rock. I was skeptical at first because I have always encountered some sort of problem in the past that has prevented me from seeing this band. Last night, however, was not the case. We even made friends with one of the bartenders there and he kept the beers and liquor flowing. My girlfriend ended up getting into the (mosh) pit and mimiced all the kickboxing tough guys in there. This resulted in her slipping and falling on the floor. It is quite amusing to see a little blond girl in a circle full of testosterone fueled hardcore thugs. I then stepped up to the plate and did some kickboxing of my own. Needless to say, I was exhausted after 5 minutes. All in all the show was awesome and it was great to see a band like Shai Hulud in the Lehigh Valley. Keep up the good work Croc Rock!

SHAI HULUD @ CROC ROCK TONIGHT!

Yes, I am stoked to see Shai Hulud tonight right in our own backyard. They will be performing live at Croc Rock in Allentown. Even though Shai Hulud is named after a character in the 80's movie DUNE and their picture to the left looks quite comical, do not take them lightly. They are one of the most fierce, technical bands I have ever heard. Their guitarists are all over the place, the drumming is chaotic and the lyrics are mainly about the downfall of man. Over the years they have had many different line-up changes. The band's second vocalist (Chad Gilbert) left the band to form the pop-punk group New Found Glory. With songs like "Set Your Body Ablaze," "This Wake I Myself Have Stirred," and "A Profound Hatred of Man," you really can't go wrong. The only problem with this band is that they are very elusive. I have attempted to see them numerous times but it hasn't worked out in my favor. Either I arrive at the show after they have played or they never show up to play. I am keeping my fingers crossed that everything will go smoothly tonight. This is like Murphy's Law, anything that can possibly go wrong will. But until I am standing on the floor at Croc Rock with a beer in my hand rockin' out to one of the most influential metal(ish) bands of my time, then I won't truly believe that this is really going to happen. See you tonight @ Croc, hopefully...

Friday Night Fights!

Soooo this weekend was a blast. I had a friend from college come to visit, which is always a debacle. My theory is that whenever you go to visit friends or have friends come to visit you, the first night is always the drunkest. You are so amped up from the excitement that a round of shots turns into 6 rounds of shots. It is always the case. I try to pace myself knowing that there is an entire weekend ahead of me, but that never works out too well. Needless to say, Friday night was one of those drunken nights. My buddy and I did some drinking at my place then hit up a couple bars in Bethlehem, before ending the night at Roosevelts 21. This is where the night becomes one big blur. My Girlfriend came to meet us out, which she quickly realized was not a good idea. I am not a belligerent drunk, but more like a controlled out of control drunk. In any case, when we walked out of the bar to get her car I decided that I didn't like what one of the parking meters was saying to me. I gave that son of a bitch a flying knee and followed up with an elbow strike.

Note to self: Getting into fights with heavy objects that are cemented into the ground is NEVER a good idea.

I have been icing my knee for the majority of the weekend. Its not like I can even tell anyone that I got into a bar brawl fending off multiple attackers. That would be a total lie. I was a drunken ass who decided to go toe to toe with an inanimate object. Can I say I have learned my lesson? Probably not. But I will find that parking meter again, and this time, I will emerge victorious. Riight.

until next time...

Mysterious Hoagiefest Towel

So as you can see by now, Crash and I are obsessed with Hoagiesfest. Not sure why the idea of a $2.99 hoagie is so exciting to us, but it is. We figure if we plug Wawa enough, then they might actually start shipping mass quantities of hoagies to the Boneyard just for us. However, that probably won't be the case. Anyway, Crash beat me to the punch once again and blogged about the Hoagiefest towel that was sent to me in the mail. The sender was anonymous and it was sent to the Boneyard and not my home address. This makes me wonder whether it was sent by the Wawa Gods or a devoted Bone listener. Fess up if its you. If its not you, then I will just assume that Wawa is trying to thank us for thinking so highly of Hoagiefest. I appreciate the gesture, but it would be nice if it were a giant place mat, instead of a towel, and the place mat were holding a mass quantity of Wawa shorties.

Until next time (I will be enjoying the Hoagiesfest hoagie of the week, which is Turkey right now)

Don't Light Yourself On Fire

So another holiday is almost upon us. For most it means a 3 day weekend, bbq and maybe some beach time. Also, you can add fireworks into the equation. Lets not forget that we are celebrating America's birthday and our 233rd year of Independence. I will not get into a whole history lesson about the significance of 4th of July because, frankly, I'm not totally sure myself. But I do know, as I am lighting that Roman Candle into my neighbors backyard, I will be saluting the flag and thanking America for all she has done for me.

Okay, now lets drink!

until next time (and have a good 4th).......
