HOT-LANTIC CITY

Okay, I know that title is cliche and stupid, but our trip to AC last Thursday for the "Living on the Edge" grand finale was neither of the two. First off, we got a limo ride down to AC with our sponsors; Service Electric Cable TV & Communications and Bud Light. With all the Bud Lights flowing in that limo, I was definitely feeling good by the time we arrived in AC. Next, we found Kyle Perkins, who was the grand prize finalist. He and his buddy Nick had already split a case of beer on their way down too (they were in a separate limo). After some more drinks and dinner at the Tropicana we headed over to the roulette table, where Kyle had to bet the $2 grand we gave him on either red or black. The rest of the night is a blur.....so you have to keep checking the Bone's webpage for the video footage to see if Kyle won the $4 grand or not.

HALLOWEEN

Halloween is probably one of my favorite holidays. From the scary movies on TV (or lack thereof this year) to all the lovely ladies wearing barely any clothes, you can't not but have a good time on Halloween. In my younger years, my main goal was to collect as much candy as possible, sort it into different catagories, then eat it all to try to achieve the biggest sugar high ever. Now that I am much more sophisticated, all I am interested in is wearing some asinine costume, drinking beer and looking at scantily clad women. You can do the same this weekend and hang out with me at the same time. Sounds like an okay deal, right? I will be celebrating the entire Halloween weekend at Drinky's bar in Easton. I have my costumes(yes, more than one) ready to go for this weekend. We will be rockin' out to the Bone both Friday and Halloween night. I am not sure what I am looking forward to more; sucking down some $.99 Miller Lite drafts or staring at the ladies that are half dressed. I am sure I must sound like a creeper right now. So be it, you know you are thinking the same thing. So put on your banana costume and come rock out this weekend with me at Drinky's in Easton. The only thing we wont have there is candy. Sorry, bring your own.

until next time (Happy Halloween).....

AAARRRGGHHHHH!!!

Some memory of this past weekend is coming back to me. I vaguely remember being dressed up like a pirate in Baltimore. Ahh yes, I remember! The 2nd Annual Pirate Cruise took place this past weekend. In case you are not familar, don't worry, most people aren't. To you a fun time might be a bonfire with friends or a house party. To my friends and I, a good time is getting belligerently drunk on a pirate ship in the middle of Baltimore's Inner Harbor. If you haven't done something like this, I HIGHLY suggest it. Its a small boat that holds about 50 people and cruises around the Inner Harbor for 2 hours. You can bring your own alcohol and music pumps from the speakers. Last year we cruised passed a wedding taking place along the water. I actually felt bad for the entire wedding party because we were screaming "Don't do it!" from the ship as we went by. The picture above was probably taken at the high point of my night before I got in trouble for hanging on the mast. Next time you are considering what to do for the weekend, get 49 of your friends (or family) together and board a pirate ship!

Check out more pics on my Facebook page, and take note that I am the ONLY one dressed like a pirate. The other pirates actually worked on the ship.

Until next time...

Busy Weekend

It is Work Release Friday once again, and I am preparing for another busy weekend. If you can associate the term "busy" with partying with Bone listeners. I have the privilege each and every Friday to party with you @ Drinky's Bar in Easton. There is always a great crowd there, hot bartenders and awesome alcohol specials. Tonight I will be there from 11-1 doing shots, giving out free Bone swag and speaking random gibberish into the microphone. Before I head out to Drinky's, I will be making a stop @ The Main Street Lounge in Stroudsburg. I will be hanging out there from 8-10, so make sure you stop by. I will then be capping off my Bone party weekend @ Rookies Sports Bar in Allentown on Sunday. Stop by for a beer between Noon and 2 and enjoy a beer with me, while I watch the Jets (hopefully win) on the big screen. Soon I will pull the jail cell door open for myself and begin the party. See you this weekend!

Until next time...

BLINK 182!!!

I know its been a couple of days since the Blink show in Camden, but it has actually taken this long for my memory of the show to come back. Ironically enough, before the show I told my girlfriend that I have been a huge Blink fan for years and I didn't want to drink too much before the show because I actually wanted to remember it. That, however, was not the case. We got a limo from the Valley to Camden. On board with us was a cooler stocked with beer and Carolina Sweet Tea. The ride took a little longer than expected due to some rush hour traffic in Philly. That was okay because it extended our drinking time. We arrived at the Bank Center halfway through Taking Back Sunday. From what I can remember, they were good. Next on stage was Weezer. Even though I am a fan of Weezer, we used this time to get some of the $11 beers at the venue. What a deal that was! By the time Blink went on, I was so many sheets to the wind that Rod Stewart and Celine Dion could have been doing duets on stage all night, and I wouldn't have known the difference. Blink played for what seemed like 5 minutes. Then we got back in the limo and went back home. That was a blur too. Next time I will try to at least maintain some level of soberness when seeing one of my favorite bands perform. After all they have been split up for the past 4 years and they reunite, play a show in Camden and I have no recollection of what actually happened. I figure things could be worse: I could be my brother. He had to take one of his friends to the ER after the show because she fell and broke her arm. How bout that for concert memories!

Sands Casino

I am looking forward to rockin' out this Thursday night at the new Sands Casino in Bethlehem. I will be hanging @ The Molten Lounge from 9-11. The band Lucky You will be playing live and you can suck down $2.50 Bud Light Limes & $2.00 Bud Drafts! You also have to do some gambling while you're there (its a good way to get free drinks!). A buddy of mine won $500 the other day on one of the machines. In addition to the band and drink specials, I will also be hooking you up with free Bone swag. Can't wait!!!

until next time....I'll see you @ Sands on Thursday!

Avalon

I am back from what seemed to be a very short week at the beach. I headed down to Avalon, NJ for a "vacation." This was one of those, I need a vacation from my vacation type deals. We ended up relaxing on the beach during the day, then going out and drinking at night. One would think that a day on the beach would be a great way to nurse a constant hangover, but no...I think boiling and sweating in the hot sun only made things worse. We did have a good time, from what I can remember. My only complaint about Avalon is that it is so damn expensive. My friends and I were constantly joking that they were running a "12 dollar beer special" at the bars. Though, each beer was not that expensive, we were forking over $5.50 for a bottle of Miller Lite. Now I am tapped out of cash, sun burnt and delirious from a week of straight drinking...but I wouldn't want it any other way.

until next time....enjoy this stupid picture of me on the beach.

WE ARE....

PENN STATE!!!As you might know, I am a Penn State Alumni and huge PSU fan. I am not trying to brag or boast but another one of those Princeton Review surveys came out. It lists Penn State as the #1 party school in the nation. It's the first time Penn State has finished first in the dubious category. The school has been on the list the last seven years and ranked third in 2008. The rankings were part of the Princeton Review's "The Best 371 Colleges" annual guide. Penn State also finished first in the categories "lots of beer" and students who pack the stadium. Considering we have never been #1 before gives us more to brag about. Now you can hate all you want, but just be glad you are not a student at Brigham Young University. They topped the list of the "Stone-Cold Sober Schools" for the 12th straight year. Now that is something to be proud of!

until next time...(keep partying)

SHAI HULUD-A SUCCESS!

A follow-up to yesterday's blog post:

My girlfriend and I attended the Shai Hulud show last night at Croc Rock. I was skeptical at first because I have always encountered some sort of problem in the past that has prevented me from seeing this band. Last night, however, was not the case. We even made friends with one of the bartenders there and he kept the beers and liquor flowing. My girlfriend ended up getting into the (mosh) pit and mimiced all the kickboxing tough guys in there. This resulted in her slipping and falling on the floor. It is quite amusing to see a little blond girl in a circle full of testosterone fueled hardcore thugs. I then stepped up to the plate and did some kickboxing of my own. Needless to say, I was exhausted after 5 minutes. All in all the show was awesome and it was great to see a band like Shai Hulud in the Lehigh Valley. Keep up the good work Croc Rock!

SHAI HULUD @ CROC ROCK TONIGHT!

Yes, I am stoked to see Shai Hulud tonight right in our own backyard. They will be performing live at Croc Rock in Allentown. Even though Shai Hulud is named after a character in the 80's movie DUNE and their picture to the left looks quite comical, do not take them lightly. They are one of the most fierce, technical bands I have ever heard. Their guitarists are all over the place, the drumming is chaotic and the lyrics are mainly about the downfall of man. Over the years they have had many different line-up changes. The band's second vocalist (Chad Gilbert) left the band to form the pop-punk group New Found Glory. With songs like "Set Your Body Ablaze," "This Wake I Myself Have Stirred," and "A Profound Hatred of Man," you really can't go wrong. The only problem with this band is that they are very elusive. I have attempted to see them numerous times but it hasn't worked out in my favor. Either I arrive at the show after they have played or they never show up to play. I am keeping my fingers crossed that everything will go smoothly tonight. This is like Murphy's Law, anything that can possibly go wrong will. But until I am standing on the floor at Croc Rock with a beer in my hand rockin' out to one of the most influential metal(ish) bands of my time, then I won't truly believe that this is really going to happen. See you tonight @ Croc, hopefully...

Friday Night Fights!

Soooo this weekend was a blast. I had a friend from college come to visit, which is always a debacle. My theory is that whenever you go to visit friends or have friends come to visit you, the first night is always the drunkest. You are so amped up from the excitement that a round of shots turns into 6 rounds of shots. It is always the case. I try to pace myself knowing that there is an entire weekend ahead of me, but that never works out too well. Needless to say, Friday night was one of those drunken nights. My buddy and I did some drinking at my place then hit up a couple bars in Bethlehem, before ending the night at Roosevelts 21. This is where the night becomes one big blur. My Girlfriend came to meet us out, which she quickly realized was not a good idea. I am not a belligerent drunk, but more like a controlled out of control drunk. In any case, when we walked out of the bar to get her car I decided that I didn't like what one of the parking meters was saying to me. I gave that son of a bitch a flying knee and followed up with an elbow strike.

Note to self: Getting into fights with heavy objects that are cemented into the ground is NEVER a good idea.

I have been icing my knee for the majority of the weekend. Its not like I can even tell anyone that I got into a bar brawl fending off multiple attackers. That would be a total lie. I was a drunken ass who decided to go toe to toe with an inanimate object. Can I say I have learned my lesson? Probably not. But I will find that parking meter again, and this time, I will emerge victorious. Riight.

until next time...

Mysterious Hoagiefest Towel

So as you can see by now, Crash and I are obsessed with Hoagiesfest. Not sure why the idea of a $2.99 hoagie is so exciting to us, but it is. We figure if we plug Wawa enough, then they might actually start shipping mass quantities of hoagies to the Boneyard just for us. However, that probably won't be the case. Anyway, Crash beat me to the punch once again and blogged about the Hoagiefest towel that was sent to me in the mail. The sender was anonymous and it was sent to the Boneyard and not my home address. This makes me wonder whether it was sent by the Wawa Gods or a devoted Bone listener. Fess up if its you. If its not you, then I will just assume that Wawa is trying to thank us for thinking so highly of Hoagiefest. I appreciate the gesture, but it would be nice if it were a giant place mat, instead of a towel, and the place mat were holding a mass quantity of Wawa shorties.

Until next time (I will be enjoying the Hoagiesfest hoagie of the week, which is Turkey right now)

Don't Light Yourself On Fire

So another holiday is almost upon us. For most it means a 3 day weekend, bbq and maybe some beach time. Also, you can add fireworks into the equation. Lets not forget that we are celebrating America's birthday and our 233rd year of Independence. I will not get into a whole history lesson about the significance of 4th of July because, frankly, I'm not totally sure myself. But I do know, as I am lighting that Roman Candle into my neighbors backyard, I will be saluting the flag and thanking America for all she has done for me.

Okay, now lets drink!

until next time (and have a good 4th).......

Teeth

So in my recent poll (and my lack of things to do) I decided to ask you, the listener, this very imp0rtant question: Who has bigger teeth; Dave Grohl (Nirvana, Foo Fighters) or George Thorogood (one bourbon, one scotch, one gigantic set of teeth)? When you get the time and energy please let me know. Thanks. Also, just to add to the topic, I went to college with a girl who had extremely large gums/teeth. We called her "gummy." Cruel? Yes. Appropriate? Very much so.

My Weekend Started Last Night

With today being Work Release Friday and promoting the fact that we are releasing you from work for the weekend, I have to say that it really isn't all that true for me. I am nursing yet another hangover, this one caused by an awesome show last night at Croc Rock and then some bar hopping afterwards. I went out and saw Punchline play in the cafe under last night. First of all, they need to install a ceiling fan in that place. I felt like I was trapped in a tanning bed. Nonetheless, it was a cool (no pun intended) show. After the show, I then continued the binge drinking at Roosevelts in Bethlehem. Great place, great times. After that we headed to the Tally Ho. I don't really remember the ridiculousness there. Then somehow I ended up back at my apartment with a WaWa hoagie (refer to Crash's blog for the Hoagiefest special of the week). All in all a great night and I am feeling the effects right now. You know the feeling when your eyes are so tired that any amount of caffeine won't help you stay awake? Yep, thats how I feel right now. I'm going to go take a nap.

until next time...

The New BONEYARD

Soooo, I am blogging and broadcasting from one of the cubicles in the building. Actually, located right next to Gina's cubicle and caddy corner to my cubicle. The reason I am broadcasting from a makeshift studio is because they are renovating the entire BONEYARD. New carpet and equipment and finally new paint on the walls!! I thought this would be more of a pain in the ass than it actually is. It feels the same as when I was a kid and pretending I was on the radio, when I was really just talking into a fake microphone in my room. The feeling is definitely the same but the audience is not. I believe there are a few more listening to me on The BONE then on a fake microphone in my parents house. In any case, in a few weeks we will have a totally new kickass BONE studio. I won't feel like I am stepping into 1975 anymore with the blue on blue walls and shag carpeting. If I had a camera handy I would do a before and after shot of the BONEYARD. I will find a way to snap a shot of the transitioning of new to old. I know you are as utterly excited as I am. Can you see the excitement on my face???

Another Year Older

I want to thank everyone for all the Birthday wishes, especially, Miss Gina Crash for making me an awesome ho-memade card. Without getting too corny, its always awesome when someone remembers your birthday. Its probably thanks to networking sites such as Myspace and Facebook, where you are reminded of someones birthday as soon as you log on. In any case, thank you again and hopefully I remember your birthday!

Until next time (enjoy this ho-memade card from Crash).....

stupid concert goers

Whats up Bone Nation! I saw some of you last night at the Buckcherry/Chevelle show at Croc Rock. It was a great show (from what I can remember), however as usual, there are a couple idiot concert goers that could ruin it. I don't mean the morons that are moshing and throwing their fists everywhere, cause I am one of those people. I am talking about the people that get pissed off if you stand in front of them or stand to close to them or sweat on them. Its a freaking concert!!! You are bound to get poked, prodded, stepped on, shoved and maybe even kicked. I did not do any of the previous but I did, however, try to get a better view of Chevelle. I am not a tall guy so I tried to get as close as I could to a decent viewing distance of the band. There was a woman (if I could call her that) that was unhappy with me standing in front of her. She said to me "Do you know you cut in front of me?" I simply said in reply "I apologize for cutting in front of you, but we are at a concert with no seats, its every man/woman for himself/herself." She and her angry looking boyfriend walked away. Seriously, this is a CONCERT not museum tour, you find a place to stand where you can get the best view of the band. If it obstructs someone else's view then so be it. That person can then walk to a different spot and do the same thing. All in all the bands rocked, the drinks rocked, Croc Rock Rocks but the audience....not so much.

Neighbors

So here I am again posting about something that annoys me. I am not usually a complainer, but this perticular incident really bothered me the other day. Okay, so I know I am the catalyst in this reaction but I was playing my music on my stereo at my apartment Tuesday evening at around 7 pm. I hopped in the shower and about 5 minutes into my shower I hear someone knocking at my door. Now, this wasn't a gentle "are you home?" type knock, this sounded like firefighters trying to bust down my door! As soon as I heard it, I got out of the shower and walked into the hallway in my towel to find noone there. I have speculation that the anonymous knocker was my neighbor (who is my age by the way) being pissed off because he thought my music was too loud. Which it wasnt.... He has complained before and even went as far as going to my landlord and telling her that I play my music too loud. Now I can see if it was 2 in the morning but come on dude, it was 7 pm. What were you trying to watch Wheel Of Fortune at this time?? The music was at a moderate volume and he didn't even let 3 songs play before he decided to try to break down my door. At this point I will be the bigger person and not retaliate....nah whom am I kidding?? Now this just adds more fuel to my fire. I spoke about this on the air yesterday and had a couple good listener suggestions. I think this Friday night before I head out for the evening I will play some Morbid Angel or Cannibal Corpse at a very high volume for the whole apartment complex to enjoy. That should really set him off! So in turn, the reason I am talking about this is because I will probably be homeless next week... Anybody want to take in a slightly unkempt radio DJ?? I'll do the dishes...

until next time...

Lazy

Since I am wayyyy behind on my blogging, I will admit one thing. Well, I could admit many things, but the one thing that holds true is that I am lazy. I enjoy playing the BONE music and talking to you (listeners) on the BONE phone, but sometimes I don't always feel like writing my thoughts down. It seems like when I have a simple task to complete, it takes me longer than if I had to calculate the square root of Pi. Well...maybe not, but you get what I'm saying. Is this a trend in our culture? The less we feel like doing, the less we will ACTUALLY do. I'm sure there are some hardworking people out there, but I would be happy sitting on a beach with a beer listening to music all day. So now that I have completed my first blog of the week (and I am slowly catching up to Crash), there will be more coming from me....when I actually feel like it.

First Blog!

Sooooo Gina beat me to my blogspot. It is true, I was sleeping while Gina was blogging. 9:02 AM is wayyyyy too early for me. Gearing up for Work Release Friday tomorrow and then kicking off the weekend tomorrow night at Pub in the Pines on Route 940 West in Pocono Pines. I will be rockin' out there from 9-11, but I have been known to stay later. I can be easily persuaded by Alcohol. On a side note, I am counting down the days till the new Bury Your Dead is in stores. It comes out May 26th! Rock it. Okay, I'm getting tired of typing and need to eat a sandwich. Until next time....
